Lindale Scrimmage Tournament

Jan 11, 2011

The Hallsville Bobcat boy's soccer team participated in a three team scrimmage tournament last Saturday, with Palestine and Lindale.  Hallsville won their first game against Palestine 2-0 thanks to goals from sophomore Seth Krider right before halftime and freshman Candido Enriquez scored on a free kick from about 40 yards away from goal in the second half.  The Bobcats turned right around and played Lindale in a physical game that felt like a continuation of the playoff game between the same two teams last Marach.  The Eagles won 3-1 in a very contested game.  There was a lot of physical play which saw players from each team cautioned.  The lone Hallsville goal was scored by Landon Lacy.  Bode Barber was in goal for Hallsville for both games recording a shutout against Palestine.  "It was a good weekend for us," stated Coach Crouse.  "We played two very good teams in Palestine and Lindale and feel like we have a pretty good idea of where we are at right now. We have a tough preseason schedule to prepare us for a very difficult district."

In JV action the JV Bobcats lost both of their games 7-0 to Palestine and 4-2 to Lindale.

The soccer team will travel to Longivew to play the Lobos Tuesday Jan. 11, 2011.  The JV is scheduled to begin at 5:30 with the varsity game to follow at 7:00pm.
