Bobcats edge Whitehouse 10-7 and the final score ended up being 10-9.  Marisela Soto and Taylor Stevenson step up in a big way defeating Brown and Ivy 6-2, 6-2  to make sure that the Bobcats had the lead 4-3 after doubles.  Whitehouse won a few close singles matches and were up 7-6 with 5 matches left.  Tanner Neely and Sarah Lilly lead the way winning at the # 1 spot both in straight sets.  Junior but first year tennis player Taylor Stevenson won her first high school match 6-1, 6-1 cliching the match for the Bobcats. (Now 2-0 in district play)  On Saturday September 10 the Bobcats took on two top 25 schools in 3A Van and then Center.  The Bobcats were without two senior boys in the morning match.  Lead by Sarah Lilly and Tanner Neely they won mixed doubles and both won their singles matches at the #1 spot.  Four matches went to the 3rd set but we were only able to pull one of them out.  Van won 10-5. Coach Haney was pleased with the way his team stepped up without those two seniors and really came to play.  In the afternoon matches the two seniors came back from taking the ACT.  We were at full strength against #21 Center.  Center was 5-2 after doubles.  Tanner Neely fought hard against Senior Seth Grant but fell short 7-6, 6-4.  Sarah Lilly and Thomas Chappell both won in singles and doubles.  Sarah Lilly was the only one to go undefeated on the weekend going 4-0.   "We knew going into these matches that Van and Center would be a tough test for us but we knew we needed to get ready for Kilgore by playing this weekend." The Bobcats play Kilgore in a rematch of the district semifinals last year on Tuesday September 13 at 4 PM.  The match is in Kilgore.
